Losing Our Religion

Are you religious? If the answer is no than let me define religion a little. Religion is a practise of faith based not on indisputable evidence but on a belief? Now the plot thickens…
Mark Manson’s latest book “Everything is F**ked, a book about hope” introduces the idea of Money as a form of religion; liberalism as a form of religion; conservatism as a form of religion; education system as a form of religion. All these practises are based on a belief instead of hard indisputable evidences. e.g. Does a college education guarantee a better job/life? No. But we choose to believe so we get our checkbooks and pay up. Does masks save lives? No one knows for sure. But we choose to believe. So F You to those who disagree. Don’t trample on our beloved religion.
A belief in our Governments is a religion.
A belief in our Health Care system is a religion.
A belief in our Education System is a religion.
A belief in our Justice System is a religion.
A belief in Justin Bieber and his latest song is, well, hormone-induced, crazed, teenage fandom. In case you think adults are any better. Refer to photos of US Capitol on Jan 6th, 2021 for clarifications.
All beliefs in humans and human organizations are essentially religious beliefs. We are attaching unchanging values and static qualities to a fluid entities. It’s like saying: “I believe the shape of water is a cube.” while looking at an ice tray.
The biggest affect the Corona Virus has had on humanity is not that it killed 0.03% of our infected population. Common flu did WAY worse than that. The biggest thing the virus did was to KILL our religions. Our previously existing beliefs.
Do we trust our governments to know what is best for us? NO!
Do we trust our health experts to know what is the right thing to do? NO!
Do we trust our education system to know what is the best for our children? NO!
Do we trust our justice system to uphold our constitutional rights and freedom in times of crisis? NO!
Do we trust our financial institutions to maintain the value of our money? NO!
The list goes on and on.
Fun Flashbacks. SARS vs COVID-19.
In 2003, business could be fined for imposing face masks on customers.
In 2021, business could be fined for NOT imposing face masks on customers.
In 2003, people who believe in vaccination tracking are conspiracy theorists.
In 2021, people who DO NOT believe in vaccination tracking are conspiracy theorists.
In 2003, trying on a ski mask while wearing a mask is a comedy routine.
In 2021, trying on a ski mask while wearing a mask is a requirement.
In 2003, people who hug others are considered kind and loving.
In 2021, people who hug others are considered selfish and mean.
Let’s admit it, a tiny, invisible virus did not do this to us. We did this to ourselves. We let fear conquer love. We let emotion conquer logic. We let despair conquer hope. We killed our old gods of compassion, tolerance, sympathy, patience, truth, gentleness and understanding and erected new gods of hatred, divisiveness, bigotry, intolerance, judgmentalness, ignorance, xenophobia and falsehood. We allowed the power of fear to divide and conquer our souls as we sit in the prison of our own making.
In this 6X6 cell, we flip the wall calendar from one page to the next and gradually let our humanness leak out of us. Everyday we become less and less connected to real human beings. Everyday we become more and more addicted to calculating, scheming machines. Everyday we become less and less trusting in the power of mother nature. Everyday we become more and more trusting of the so-called science achieved in ultra-high security labs.
One day we’ll wake up and realize the irony – “If a pandemic starts and ends in the labs, and we ARE the monkeys, the lab rats and the white coats in that lab, then can we still call this a pandemic? Is earth the laboratory? Who’s running the experiments?”
Sorry to be a downer my dear readers, but that’s me in the corner, rattling my cage, and yes, losing my religion.
Next blog is going to be about hope, I promise! Do you trust me?

Comment from Luc Lucas on Facebook:
I believe that you must keep in touch with your inner self by letting your outer spiritual energy flow through you to clean out the confusion and debris that is cluttered inside our mind and soul. Nature is a wonderful ingredient for washing away the dirt that is inside our bodies. Mankind has unfortunately shit on nature for centuries and now nature is laughing at mankind like we are playing a game of poker with life. If we love nature and create healthy energy that does not harm the beautiful world around us ( that is all free by the way ) air ,water, earth and fire are all available to everyone to enjoy everyday. Only the material things or what mankind turned into material products that cost currency. The forest is free to look at and hike through, the air is fresh and free to breath as much as you like. But lumber costs you a currency. Being thankful is free. Love is free but a diamond ring costs you currency. Religion of whichever form is a state of mind and soul which is free and has many additional values. However if you abuse your form of religion and cause harm to others there may be a price tag latter down the road of life. Like this Pandemic is natures price tag that all the people of this planet are paying for either by losing their freedom or health conditions have changed and we are all feeling unstable. But we must keep believing that ” all is good ” for tomorrow the sun will shine again. Now that is a religion I will pray for.
